Cheddar-Onion Bread

2-1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 c. (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c. minced green onions
1 egg
3/4 c. milk

Grease a 1-1/2-quart casserole. In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in mayonnaise until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cheese and onions; toss.

Beat together egg and milk. Stir into cheese mixture until just moistened. Spoon into casserole.

Bake at 425 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cut into wedges and serve immediately.

Makes 1 bread.
