10 c. water
2 c. (1 lb.) dried navy beans
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 t. salt
6 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled (can use fakon)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 c. water
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Heat 10 c. water the the beans to boiling in a Dutch oven. Boil uncovered for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients except last 3 c. water. Cover and bake 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
Stir in 3 c. water. Bake uncovered 2 to 2-1/2 hours longer, stirring occasionally, until beans and tender and desire consistency.
Serves 10.
