Sweet Potato Apple Casserole

3 medium sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled, and sliced
2 tart apples, pared, cored, and sliced
1/3 c. brown sugar
3 T. butter
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/3 c. chopped pecans

Arrange half the sweet potatoes in the bottom of a greased baking dish and sprinkle lightly with salt. Add a layer of apple slices, sprinkle with brown sugar, and dot with butter. Add half the pecans. Repeat the process with the other half of the ingredients. Pour maple syrup over all. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
