Blueberry Buckle

1/2 stick (1/4 c.) butter, at room temperature
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 t. vanilla
1-1/3 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1/3 c. milk
2 c. blueberries, picked over
1/2 t. ground cardamon or allspice
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 stick butter
Whipped cream or ice cream

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9" square baking dish.

Cream 1/2 stick butter and 1/2 c. sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Separately, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Starting and ending with flour mixture, add flour alternately with milk. Pour batter into dish. Top with blueberries.

Combine 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 stick butter, and spices, until it resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle over blueberries. Bake 40-45 minutes.
