1/2 lb. feta cheese, preferably Bulgarian*
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 hard-cooked egg, chopped
3 T. chopped fresh dill
2 T. sour cream
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Black olives for garnish
Pita bread or French bread slices
Place the feta cheese in a food processor and mince.
Transfer the cheese to a bowl. Stir in the garlic, chopped egg, dill, and sour cream until well blended. Season with pepper, cover, and refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with olives.
Makes about 2 cups.
*If you find your feta cheese to be too salty, soak it in cold water for several hours beforehand.
